Myammar's most popular comedian Maung Thura, better known as Zarganar, was taken into custody by the authority, it was reported on Thursday. Maung known to be very critical of the Junta government through his comical jibes were arrested after visiting the cyclone-shattered Irrawady village where he and his friends donate relief items.
Zarnagar, 46, was arrested last September for helping Buddhist monks who spearheaded anti-government protests in Yangoon. Zarnagar was also arrested in 1988 for his political activities and helping his mother who was a member of opposition National League for Democracy lead by Aung San Suu Kyi.
He and his group distributed food, blankets and other emergency aid to victims and had `confrontation with the authority' during the trips. Myammar's regime has been criticised by international community for barring foreigns aid workers to help the cyclone victims. The ban was later lifted but there are still reports of food dragging by the regime.

In Turkey, Constitutional Court annulled a law allowing women to wear headscarves in universities on grounds it violates secularism. It claims also to breach constitutional provision as Turkey is secular state. It is major setback for the Justice and Development Party headed by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan himself.
Imagine in a majority Islamic population, a law in with the Islamic tenet were thrown out of court and by Muslim judges too!!!
Senator Barrack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, were criticised for just giving his wife Michelle a knuckle-bump or a dap. Critics claimed that Michelle `fist pound' to her husband Obama, as `Hezbollah style fist-jabbing'. Some claim that Obama and his wife still `do silly things` despite the party's presidential election marathon. Obama `bumped fists' with his wife Michelle on national television before he took the stage.
My..my..to many of us, it is just a gesture, but to the Americans, claims to be better democrats, it is an issue!!!

The metaphor of that USA is the melting pot is a true misleading. A more accurate analogy would be a rojak...the cucumber can still be distinguished from the sengkuang, the beansprout from the cucur udang...the white from the black.
Take my words, if Obama is a 'purely' white...nobody will care about the gesture!
