Tear Down The Wall of Disunity....

The PM has called on Malaysian to `repair the bridges and tear down the divisive walls' that exist among the races. Every civilised minded Malaysian must adhere and take this as a life protocol in our Malaysian soil. Lets tear down the wall of disunity!!!

You maybe a Malaysian Chinese or an Indian trying your livelihood in New Zealand or Australia but in the end you will find Malaysia as your first lasting home. Similarly if you are a Malay trying to live in Mecca, you will still find Malaysia as your beloved country.

Trying your life in Perth for the Chinese but soon enough you will find Penang as a place where you find your nostalgic chow kueh teow likewise a Malay trying make a fortune in Brunei but in the end he or she will find the best nasi lemak is still found in Chow Kit. An Indian trying to venture in Chennai will sooner or later realise that we still have the best roti canai and `nasi daun pisang' back home in Bricksfield. Talks about migration and landing in alternative homes!!!

Lets forget the petty nutty arguments..Malaysia is our home. It is where you have your have bread and butter or rice and roti canai..for that matter. Yes..we have our shortcomings, hiccups here and there..but you will still find it hard to deny the country where you were born, brought up and earning your own life..as your motherland..It is your country and your life!!!

You may have a different thinking about anything..be it political, economy, social or otherwise..but lets make it Malaysian. You may want changes..reforms..etc..etc...but lets demand as Malaysian. Or you may want anything...but lets do it as Malaysian. It is the key to preserving your country and your life. It is indeed your life!!!

So..it is one Malaysia..no more and no less..accept it or the choice is all yours!!!

Recently the half century powerful Liberal Democratic Party - LDP in Japan lost badly to Democratic Party of Japan - DPJ in the 480 seats election in the Diet. LDP was formed in 1955 after a merger of the Liberal Party and the Japan Democratic Party where the coalition voted the Japanese Socialist Party out of the Diet with a comfortable majority. It was only after 38 years in power and in 1993 the LDP lost to Japan Renewal Party and its coalition the New Party Sakigake. The LDP came back to power after eleven months in 1994 though the Premiership was given to JSP as a coalition partner.

Prime Minister and party chief Taro Aso resigned taking full responsibility of the bad performances of his party Three more senior party executives have also made similar stand. ` I have to take the responsibility..we have to make a fresh start swiftly by holding a presidential party election..as one member of the party, I must strive for the revival of LDP' Aso said. LDP's Secretary General Hiroyuki Hosoda echoed with..we'd like to straightly face the severe results. We will search our souls and start preparing for the next election'.

Among the election casualties were former finance ministers Kaoru Yosano and Shoichi Nakagawa. ' I have received support from many people to fight in this election. But I could not meet your expectations. I now become unable to work as your representative in parliament' Nakagawa said to his supporters. Nakagawa became a centre of criticism over his apparently drunken behaviour and slurred his speech at a news conference during the G7 meeting in Rome recently. He resigned as Finance Minister last Ferbruary.

That was LDP of Japan, after 55 years of power collapsed. The LDP's Government were haunted with political issues such as loss of record of million of payment of the national pension scheme, financial scandals involving senior ministers which lead to resignation of Norihiko Akagi, Minsiter of Labour and Welfare, Hakuo Yanagisawa, Minister of Defense and the death of Toshikatsu Matsuoka, Minister of Health who committed suicide.

Yukio Hatoyama, the next prime minister and head DPJ has called on a `more equal' partnership with US and he believes that Japan should recalibrate its foreign policy to look less to the US and more towards Asia. Hatoyama predicted that ` as a result of the failure of the Iraq war and the financial crisis, the era of US-led globalisation is coming to an end and we are moving toward an era of multi polarity'.

Now..that was Japan and the LDP. It has happened in India..the Congress. In Indonesia..the GOLKAR..it could happen anywhere too!!!

Back home, we are forced to witness another MCA political crisis which could lead to another big dent to the ruling BN of which MCA is a senior component. The sacking of its deputy president Dr Chua Soi Lek would add another spat of salt to MCA's continuous struggle to gain the Chinese confidence after the last election.

To some, the sacking was very well justified, due the morally haunted issue of Dr Chua. The majority of Malaysian could not accept the fact that a man who has admitted committing adultery, resigned all party posts and accepting that he was a liability to the party and the country, made a comeback after a short self confessed rehabilitation process and got elected as a deputy president of the second largest party in the country.

Yes..it was a truly democratic process and an in house business of the day for the MCA. But one must remember MCA is a partner of the ruling party and Dr Chua's presence in any BN political performances does reflect the image of BN as a ruling party. Dr Chua and his supporters should not say that it was the past and private life of Dr Chua.

MCA as a coalition partner of BN could not take the risk of having a self confessed man who has committed adultery as a candidate for election or a deputy president of MCA for that matter. It is something that just cannot be swiped under the carpet in the name of democracy. Dr Chua has to live by it and his political adventures should come to a final halt!!!

I am sorry bro. Malaysia is just not for me now..ever...after!

It is just too bad Malaysian politicians are shaping the country into a multi racial chaos.

I salute the Tunku and his group of leaders who has the wisdom, sincere and honesty.
