Events of the day...truth and lies prevails..

Syed Hamid Albar, Malaysia's Home Minister

Kim Jong Il - North Korean's President

Lee Myung Bak of South Korea

Nicolas Sarkozy of France

Omar El Bashir of Sudan

City Police Chief apologised for the inconveniences caused to the motorists in the massive jams in the city yesterday. Syed Hamid too apologised but still maintained his `innocent' by claiming that the opposition parties were really planning for a big demonstration. Our only regret was that the police was the one who was the target of abuses by the irate motorist. It should be the political masters not the police to be blamed. Now the question is whether there was really a plan to demonstrate by any quarters or was it a mere political psych war on the part of our `not so intelligent political practitioners' based on their own `intelligence reports'. God has a say in this.

A South Korean woman believed to be a tourist was shot dead by the North Korean army. She was claimed to have entered the North Korean territory near a resort in Kumgang Mountain near the Korean border. The incident will create more tension between the two countries. Both Korean brothers are at `odds on all odds'.

Sudanese President, Omar al Beshir has been accused by the International Criminal Court, ICC in Hague of war crimes in Darfur. It was a another attempt by the international community to put the Islamic African nation into a negative and dictatorial image. The Sudan's government has reacted strongly to the accusation. The proposed indictment of the President will tantamount to a violation of the country's sovereignty and would have consequences. What about George Bush on Iraq's intervention, will the ICC press charge against him too...very unlikely.

Dalai Lama says that Islam is not violent. The Tibetan spiritual leader said that it is totally wrong and unfair to call Islam a violent religion. He was speaking to a more than 5,000 participants at the Lehigh University in Pennsylvania lecture on `Generating a Good Heart'. People with spiritual heart always has the right spiritual approach and thinking. Though, Dalai Lama stop short of commenting on the Beijing Olympic Games.

The world's oldest blogger Olive Riley, died in Sydney on July 12. Her blog http://www.allaboutto-live.com.au/ and more recently worldoldest-blogger.blogspot.com has posted her last final message about singing `a happy song' in her nursing home. She was 108. May God Bless Her Soul.

Miss Malaysia, Levy Li Su Lin was caught posing brandishing a Kris during a taping session for the Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam last week. Was she on combative action or just a mere ceremonial gesture. She is representing Malaysia, remember. Maybe Ong Ka Ting of MCA would like to comment or Hishamudin of UMNO Youth!

Nicolas Sarkozy plays peace mediator for Palestine and Israel. France should be a messenger of peace! He told a news conference after talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad. He was speaking to the Mediterranean Union summit bringing together 43 nations in Europe, Middle East and North Africa who have never sat in a single table before. Bush and Blair, the `self proclaimed democratic tutors', just could not do it. Sarkozy, the flamboyant and easy going leader takes the lead! Shame on you Bush and Blair!
